Arlington Reads: Selected readings from October Sky (Rocket Boys)

The Texas Radio Theatre Company is excited to help support the Arlington Reads Program during a lunchtime event at J. Gilligan’s (400 E Abram St) on March 30th at 11:30am

Mitch Carr, Larry Groebe and Shannon Atkinson are scheduled to read 3 different parts of Homer Hickam’s October Sky (Rocket Boys)

Homer Hickam is is a Vietnam veteran, a scuba instructor, a retired rocket scientist, and an amateur paleontologist. More than anything else, he loves to write. He lives in the Virgin Islands and Huntsville, Alabama.

Arlington Reads , the fourth-annual community-wide read, will take place in March and April 2006. This program is a collaborative project of the Arlington Public Library, University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington Independent School District, and Reading & Radio Resource. This year, junior high school students through adults will read October Sky (originally published as Rocket Boys) and elementary school students will read Flight: The Journey of Charles Lindbergh.
